Mohair Handwarmers - Crochet Me.
Love these..... once I get the hang of the basics, these are mine. All mine!
Realising late in the game that Winter 2010 refers to NOW....not October, November and December 2010. Seriously, someones needs to have a word with those Americans and tell them when the seasons start and finish!!!
Was under a minor bit of pressure as I will be disappearing for a while due to eye surgery. (Cross all fingers and toes and all other relevant bits on Tuesday)I'm promised 3 months of a blurry right eye then hopefully all will be well in my world and I might eventually get my Etsy shop rockin' and rollin'....:)
I handprinted the numbers and appliqued the cars and stitched merino felt on the tyres..quilted with 100%cotton batting. Free machine embroidery around the numbers to act as quilting. Loved doing it. Hope baby Gilhespy enjoys it!
Slan....
We all had this for lunch. Delish.....from the fabulous Avoca Soups book.
Saute the onion for 10 mins in 4 tblspns of olive oil. Add carrots, peppers, chilli, garlic and barley. toss in more oil and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the celery, stock, tomatoes and puree and cook for a further 15 minutes or until the veg are just cooked. Add the chickpeas and cook for a further 5 minutes.
Add the fresh herbs, check seasoning and serve.
You can also add chorizo or char grilled chicken for a more substantial meal.
It's been a long time. A very long time. There was a mammoth Christmas holiday. Disastrous weather for travelling so we were all trapped in Kildare. Eventually we got home on the 5th January and the girls both get scarlet fever within 2 hours of each other. What a dose. Miserable babies and miserable Mammy. we all had severe lashings of cabin fever. It has passed and let that be it 2010 with sick girls.
The first day they felt better, we got out the paints and painted a beautiful piece. It'll be up on the wall as soon as I can find the blutack...
I did a job on my To Do List today so am feeling great. I washed all the fabric I bought in NY and ironed half of it whilst watching some great trashy afternoon tv.
